The end is near…
I peak back at Emele as we head to Dar from Zanzibar, the tears slowly but steadliy streaming down her face, the trip has touched her heart and for the first time in her life she has no strong desire to return home. Though perhaps more weighted on the beauty and people of Zanzibar, the simplicity and the realization or better yet recognition of her own resilience and ability to leave all her much coveted creature comforts has undoubtedly fueled this sentiment.
While I’m sad to leave, I’m also ready, wanting to segway the things Ive discovered here into the life that is my own.
We had hoped to have more consistent postings but with power outages a regular occurrence and internet speeds as fast as a slow moving elephant in the Seregeti with no place to go, entries were written every few days and posted whenever time and access permitted…hence the somewhat sporadic entries, but we hope you have enjoyed the journey as much as we did.
xoxo,
Emele and Mihae
